I've become too familiar with this darkness inside

a cool manipulator of the "me" I provide

I say just what you want, the very moment it suits you

it seems I've forgotten things I wanted to pursue

Set aside on the back burner, waiting for the right time

I'm a pretty quick learner, I'm not stupid or blind

I've simply traded my opinion and value, for peace

offered up as communion, a valid trade for release

What I think doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things

another rung on the ladder, with words stuck in my teeth
