The Taste of Home

Just Me Being Me

By Sheri Lee Dyson-BrownPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
Good Old Days

There is a place I retreat to shut out the world. Whenever I go, I’m a small child again as I walk through the door. We’re all laughing and playing like we never ever left.

There’s no past, present, or future there. Just me being me. Cause I’m different at home then the world thinks I should be.

I remember the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. How they fought with each other to be in control. There are days that I fight and long to be free. Running through cottonfields, Just me being me. Cause I’m different at home than the world thinks I should be.
