The tainted lips of the first lie
Like poison ivy, it allures. 🔥Tattooed in sin.

The tainted lips of the first lie the devil ever told.
Steeped in Poison Ivy...
Enchanted innocence, exuded sin...embraced the dark.

The First Lie, sweet deception
The vines entwined
Your lips were stained black as onyx'ed opal
Temptation painted upon perfection
Within shadows deep, as a snake you hid
and whispered words the world believed.
🔥
A serpent’s tongue in velvet spun,
where truth once stood, now undone.
A promise kissed with honeyed breath,
dripped poison sweet as silent death.
The devil smiled with knowing eyes,
the first deception in disguise.
🔥
Through ages worn and stories old,
the lie grew roots, took firmest hold.
Its echoes haunt in hollow halls,
etched in stone where injustice falls.
🔥
Yet some still hear, some still see,
beyond the veil of trickery.
For lips may taint, and voices fade,
but light will burn through every shade.
🔥

I imagine this designed into twigs and a snake. Nice
All I can say is really dark. A serpents tongue in velvet spun. - Wow - however beautifully written. Well Done!!!
Oooo, this is right up my alley! I freaking loved it!
And yet the knowledge remains, the fall ever immanent. Beautifully faithful expression, Antoni.
At times there could be truth in lies one just has to listen. Good job.
Snaps all around! Go gurl! You deserve a standing ovation 4 this one! That last line is pure fire! 🔥This was soooo kick-butt & eloquent! 💪🏾🌸
Well-wrought! This calls to mind the Black Sabbath song "The Devil Cried", one of Ronnie James Dio's most clever lyrical turns!
the light always brings out the lies
What needs to be reflected upon is one's own perspective and knowledge. Rather than doubting one's own sincerity and kindness.
It’s crazy how one lie can linger, but eventually, the truth always breaks through. No matter how deep the darkness is, light has a way of finding its way in.
Captivating poem!!!
Oooh. This is cool. The rhyme structure really works well, and the word choice really works as a powerful condemnation of lies and liars. I like it
