The Story That Has Never Been Truly Told Before

A Story Told In Sonnets

By Shelby Cason KrautPublished 5 years ago 6 min read

When people hear about the valley of the wonder doves, they think of the different things that have gone on there and the people who have chosen to live there. With the rules that they have to live by and the consequences that follow if someone does not do so, I can never understand why people continue to live. But before I talk about the rules, let us talk about how the people managed to discover the valley and how life would be there.

The Grand Discovery

Through forests and over hills, the settlers traveled

They looked far and wide for a place to settle

They wanted somewhere where they could come together

The settlers agreed that open hearts would be the only reason it could work

First, they found a place that was open and wide

There were rivers and streams, but that was all

The setters fought, and some departed

The others decided that this was not the place for them at all

But as the settlers moved on, the settlers who departed reappeared

They came across a snow-covered valley that shine bright with the sun

Some liked what they saw, but others departed once more

The others decided again that this was not the place for them at all

As the settlers continued to move forward far and wide

They began to lose hope that they could find a place where they could come together

The ones who departed reappeared and gave them hope that they would find the perfect place

The others agreed to follow, but if anyone departed, they would be done

The valley where they came as one was the one that would work for them

It was open and wide with streams and rivers, but one thing stood out

It was full of doves, and their hearts smiled, for they had found a place where they could come together

Now that you know how the valley was discovered, let us get into the rules that make this valley a great place for some people and a struggle for others like the one who caused the valley to close.

Valley of The Wonder Doves

Once a month, we come together

In time to celebrate our love

To remember why we want to be here forever

In the valley of the wonder doves

The valley unites people with an open heart

To show how to spread the love that keeps us free

Without our hearts to guide us, we are forced to depart

And the freedom that we long for will not be guaranteed

But in the moment of it all, someone closed their heart forever

And the people move without the clue of what to do

As long as the heart remained closed, no one is allowed to come together

So, the people band together to fight and unite

The valley of the wonder doves is a place for love and celebration

Without it, the world would change, and we would lose ourselves in frustration

Now that we have gotten past those poems, let us get to the one that we know has caught your attention if you followed closely to what other people have said. The poem I am going to read to you is about the person who closed his heart even though they knew the history of The Valley of the Wonder Doves.

The Forgotten One

They say the valley of wonder doves is a place for love and celebration

That without, the world would change, and we would lose ourselves in frustration

Well, in the valley of wonder doves, I lost myself in frustration

There was something that tried to force me to depart

The people who showed love to others refused to show love to me

They say that I’m different, … that I won’t fit in, … that this isn’t the place for me

I try so hard to change who I am so I can stay in the valley of wonder doves

But every year, I feel as though I have to depart

And bit by bit, I have no choice but to close my heart

I know what it means for the people of the valley

But they’ve given me no choice, it’s either this or heartbreak

And that it isn’t something I will deal with

And so, it began, the people were forced to depart from the valley of wonder doves

They say it was me, but they are wrong

To say I am different and refuse to show me love means their hearts are closed as well

In order to come together forever in valley of wonder droves, there is a lot of work that needs to be done

Now that you know the true poem of the one that closed their heart, you are ready to hear the poem of how they fought to save the valley of the wonder droves and started to understand why the valley closed to them.

The Fight to Save

The Valley of The Wonder Doves

Months passed and the valley remained closed,

The doves left the valley for even they couldn’t deal with it

The people moved far and wide but never settled

There was still only one place for them

The people came together and thought long and hard

There had to be something they could do

They first believed they could forbid the one that caused the pain to stay away

The valley still remained closed and the doves didn’t return

The person who closed their heart tried to show them what they were missing

But no one believed them for they never understood the person to begin with

The valley opened open for the one that closed their heart

But the doves didn’t return, the people were unsure

Finally, the people looked in themselves and saw what they refused to see

Their hearts were closed when they refused to accept the forbidden one

They understood now and the doves slowly returned

As the dove returned, the people of the valley were allowed to come together

Now that you know the poem of how the people fought to save the valley of the wonder doves, you can finally realize that all it took was for them to understand why the valley closed and that they too were a part of the reason why. But the story is not yet finished and there is one last poem to tell.

Why They Have to Work as One

There is a reason why the valley of the wonder doves has its rules

It is to protect each and every one of the settlers

They are each the same and each have a reason to be in the valley

They have to work together side by side

The one that closed their heart was the one to save them all

The valley showed them what was coming, but they refused to listen

They wanted to believe that only they knew what to do

And the valley closed itself to show them they were wrong

The fight to save the valley didn’t have to happen

But there was no other way… any other way would have been ignored

The people know now what they have to do

They need to look inside themselves and understand they have to work together

Now you know the story of the valley of the doves

There is no place like it and it will only come once in a while

Look inside yourself and you find what you need to open your heart

There is a place you and me to come together to celebrate

And there you have it. This is the story of the wonder doves and why I can only be told in a set of sonnets.
