Raindrop Years

Sitting.

Staring at the water,

Watching the storm roll in, through and around.

Just heard a personal storm, a doctor’s diagnosis,

Rolled in and over and through life.

And suddenly, the raindrops fall.

Giant, perfect spheres that break and shatter when they hit.

It feels like the years lived and those lost.

So many broken memories left to scatter.

So many memories yet unlived, already lost.

And then, the storm washes and sweeps away even the remnants of all that was and could be.

And all that is left is the now.

Very poignant and this line is superb: So many memories yet unlived, already lost.
