stillness...the gentle pause of a hush between heartbeats, the moment when the world holds its breath**** it is the mirror-like lake at dawn, unbroken by ripple or whisper,****reflecting the heavens with flawless devotion.
it is the untouched snowfall resting upon the earth like a fleeting melody, each flake cradled in silence****it is the hush of twilight, when even the trees seem reluctant to stir****wrapped in the velvet embrace of night****it is the weightless drift of a single feather****suspended in a moment that never asks to pass****in perfect stillness, time is not lost...it simply chooses not to move.
It is then that I rise from beneath the surface...born of the elements
I am both darkness and light
Stillness and motion
A personification of light breaking water
Flowing, pure...untamed
Beneath the ripples, I exist beyond time.
I am light, illuminating the heavens
I am fluid...flowing
Infinite, pure...unstoppable.
Shimmering...Delicate...
The light and I are as one
Light bends, twists, leaps...twirls,
Dances through air...on golden wings.
As if through glass, a prism of feathery silk,
Delectable in its gossamer tango
Splitting colors, refraction shifts askew,
Changing angles, shifting hues.
A mirror.
Light turns...defiant.
Reflection echoes...a gleam,
Like memories cast in silver dreams.
It scatters wide when mist breathes,
Painting halos in the dawn.
Diffraction...waves entwine,
Creating patterns to divinity.
Light... It moves unseen
A silent artist of shadow and ray.
Light breaks water
Water embraces light
Illuminating and bathing the world
In a glorified pageantry of splendor!

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
