The Steel Shield

A poem for all the front liners during covid-19 pandemic

They may look strong

They may appear tuff,

Smiling and walking sturdily

But they must be scared too…!

Go work with a lot of anxiety

All things seem confusing,

Even for skilled one like them

They would not really know what to expect

Even often overwhelmed by the demands

Outside their duties,

They must have rivals to win,

But they know there is one biggest enemy,

That should be exterminated

They must have dreams to reach,

But sincerely put it off for everyone hope,

The end of the pandemic…

And there must be a strong urge to please,

And pleased by the loving one

But those things become number two,

Or even the last to be fulfilled…

All selfishness is going taboo

All egos are rolled out

For something more urgent!

They are working long

Persevering through unpredictable circumstances

Struggled in the exhausting work,

Fear and heartbreak

Physically, mentally and emotionally worn out…

But they keep fight!

Risking their lives to save ours

The silent enemy must be destroyed

Get rid of them of the earth!

Some periods they seem a victory

Another day they could still see a long haul…

Some are survived,

Some are fell,

And gone to heaven

They’re the frontliner

They’re the steel shield

Ensuring our safety day by day

As hoping their courage uplift our spirit

They cooperate without surrender,

In this such a critical age in human history

They help and cure,

Only to give us relief

They’re the real Thor!

They’re our Captain America!

They’re our Wonder Woman!

Superheroes to save the world!
