The star

You were closer, but the chance never came...

By Matt B.Published 3 years ago 1 min read

Every once in a long while

In every round that matches round

A little star flashes its light

*

I see it with my little eyes

With my only friend by my side

While I go around long miles

I longly wait that little light

*

My only companion and I

We wonder about such crazy times

The only time it’s on, at night

Like from the dark it needs to hide

*

And we always blush when we see it smile

Out of this world, that’s more than right

How can we help you, our little light?

You’re alone and dying , in your innocent exile

*

I’d love to care and praise and love you

I’d help to carry our past

Would you want me to, at last?

Either way, you’re so far apart now.
