The Stairway
Heaven's Climb

As you read the poem, enjoy the song that inspired the image, which, in turn, inspired the words.
There’s a stairway
That only goes one way
Each step ascending
But never descending
Made of gold
It can not be sold
A heavenly route
While fluttering about
The birds all sing
Praises to the King
The flowers grow around
All along the ground
Waiting for the lass
To come walking past
On her way to the stairs
While she put on airs
After leaving the trees
Skirt blowing in the breeze
She listens to the brook
While quoting the Book
Climbing to a glowing sky
For the Throne on high
For her to obtain
So said her brain
Back never bent
She’s heaven sent
Always going
Never slowing
Upwards
Onwards
Goals to reach
A God to impeach
Overthrow
Outgrow
Time to change
Heaven is strange
So she scales
And this is her tale

Beautiful song. Don't we all want to be on the stairway. The song is playing while I type this.
