Prologue

We wait for many things. For success, for love, for good fortune.

Patience is a virtue, they all say, and patience is. Good things come to those who wait, make no mistake.

In matters of the heart, the wait is long, but can be too long for some. Enjoy this tautology.

____________________________________________________

My wait was long, and time’s hand stopped,

The hours stretched as time’s sand dropped.

The night was dark, the light long gone

But still I wait, and I wait long.

Your heart is mine, it’s mine to hold

Don’t try to flee, don’t be too bold

Time has now passed, and it’s my time

My moment’s here, the time is mine.

Ohhh, so good, love the eerie vibe.

This is spooky, I like the duality... It could be a possessive spirit or a jealous lover who feels caught in limbo. Excellent read!

This is an interesting piece as is the definition of tautology.

    This is kinda frightening...

  • But it's so difficult to know who's the right person. Loved your poem. Also, there's a tiny typo in this sentence, "Emjot this tautology."
