In ancient times of yore,

When firelight flickered on the floor,

And shadows danced upon the walls,

The storyteller spun his tales.

With every word and every phrase,

He wove a spell that did amaze,

Transporting listeners far away,

To lands of wonder and dismay.

He spoke of heroes brave and bold,

Of dragons fierce and wizards old,

Of love and loss and victory won,

Until the night was nearly done.

And as the fire burned low and dim,

The spell was broken with a grin,

As listeners sighed and slowly rose,

Returning to the world they chose.

But in their hearts the magic stayed,

The tales they heard would never fade,

For storytelling is a wondrous thing,

A power that can make hearts sing.
