The Sonnet Of The Wind

Sometimes I envy the wind.

By I. D. ReevesPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Sometimes I envy the wind.

For the wind may fly, unfettered and free,

Away from these petty men and their sins,

Which will forever bear down upon me.

Alone, the wind wanders the open sky,

Sailing in the heavens eternally.

I wish to soar free with the wind, but I

Am weighed down by responsibilities.

I crave peace in the sky and solitude,

With only the soft clouds for company:

Far away from the churning multitude

Where no one can expect so much from me.

Sometimes I envy the wind,

For it’s freer than I ever will be.
