The Song Continues
Thought-provoking meditative poem.
Just breathe
(though the)
creeping shadows
and
inhale
(while the)
weeping willows
and
exhale
(as the)
sleeping hollows
and
inhale
(though the)
reaping follows
and
exhale
(while the)
cleaving fallows
and
inhale
(as the)
leaving shallows
exhale (no more)
dying hallows
(more no)
inhale
exhale
Just Breathe
as the band it plays on
and the piper welcomes dawn
as the poet speaks his truth
and the words become your proof
as the song continues you—endless
and the singers harmonize—regardless
know that with every ending
there is a new beginning
Just Breathe

When breathing is all that you can do, know that it's not simply that it's enough--it's healing.
This felt like quite a therapeutic read! Hope writing it was too! Really felt the rhythm of inhales and exhales! Thank you for sharing it, Paul!
Oooo, you've channelled your inner Taylor Swift! This gave me strong vibes of her and I sang it to my own tune! Hey, maybe you can enter this into the lyrics challenge thingy
This actually calmed my anxiety, haha! It flows so well, and it really gives a calming affect. Love the unique structure in the beginning too. Awesome job, Paul!
This poem is so relaxing and if I still lead relaxation groups I would read this one as a starting point. Good job.
That's a nice little meditative verse. I could feel myself relaxing to the words. <3
I could feel the release by the end, wonderful piece :)
This was a much needed sigh of relief!! Love this, Paul!!
Stellar, mate!! You can feel the rhythm of breath throughout the whole piece - it reads as even quite musical, to me. So ethereal - love it, Paul!
Interesting word play in the opening verses. Loved the build up to the finale, just breathe especially since the entire poem’s rhythm and flow is dependent on respiration. Great poem, Paul!
Neat poem!
Ouuu, this has such a calming flow. Beautiful!
Well-wrought! The wordplay here is superb, Paul!
And so we move on! We breathe...no matter the circumstance.
Nice work. I enjoyed this very much. Keep up the good work!!!
