The Sonder in the Atmosphere

For the world to see

By AryaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I sit atop a shooting star

Watch me soar oh so far

The limits are endless, the views are amazing

Observe as my path, the one that's trailblazing,

Crashes and burns into the ground

Where shooting stars are truly bound

Life's a mess, one almost cannot contest

Maybe not always, sometimes rabid dogs rest

But this is the mind of someone who's stuck

Someone who's withered and knackered as f***

The shooting star can be a mystical wonder

Or just a meteroid in the earth, ready to sunder

There was a time when the world was your oyster

Full of song and dance and frivolous roister

Then something hit and life started to do you in

Life suddenly seemed like it didn't want you to win

Remember that shooting star that you see in the sky

And remember that it's shared with someone else's eye

We live in a time where we are simultaneously closer and further away

Say hello to Zimbabwe, Chile, mates in the UK

But from the ones closest to us, we can still stray

Because we spend time struggling to keep dark clouds at bay

In a sea of minds, bodies, and souls, I can comfortably say

You are both unique in your experiences and not alone in your mental affray

I write this words not out of despair, but out of hope

The line drawn between the two is truly a weathering rope

When sometimes the moves you desire make others upset

Realize you live life for you, so don't hold back and regret

It may mean you're creating an earthquake to the status quo

But having that placid norm may be the reason for your woe

I sit atop a shooting star

Watch me soar oh so far

A little rock that broke through the atmosphere

A fiery flying spectacle for every sightseer

And though I may find myself landing on the earth

I'll hit the ground running because I know what it's worth
