The soldier will catch a snowflake in his palm...

A Story Told in Snow

By Arfiya khan Published 12 months ago 1 min read

The signs are forgotten, the weather is raging,
Winter forgot to grab her outfit;
And autumn has reigned for half a year now,
The rains are tirelessly and long noisy.

The New Year is walking around the planet in galoshes,
A new day is spinning from a ray of sun;
It applauds loudly in its hands,
Having sent rainy adversities into the shade.

But I want to see winter pictures,
To slide down a high mountain on a sled,
To catch miracle snowflakes with mittens
In delight with this cheerful game.

And somewhere, tired of shooting and hardships,
A soldier will catch a snowflake in his palm;
And in this short moment of happiness
He will forget about the bitterness of terrible losses;

He will forget that yesterday at dawn
His friend died from excruciating wounds,
Having melted in a moment just like this,
Which, perhaps, was given for happiness.
