The Snafu Senryu challenge
A senryu is meant to highlight human quirks and emotions, so ensure your senryu has a personal or emotional touch
Submission:
Elevator silence,
Button pressed – same floor as you,
Eyes dart, cheeks turn red.
Mismatched socks on stage,
Spotlight beams, crowd notices,
Blame the morning rush.
He laughed, I joined in,
His tears were not of joy – oops,
Mistook his sorrow.
Texted, no reply,
Yet online – they're posting pics,
Swipe, pretend not seen.
Late for the meeting,
Stumbled in with coffee spill,
Slides on backward too.
Each bite makes a sound,
First date, chips the only food,
Crisp echoes of nerves.

Getting Serious About Comedy (Part I)
If I were asked to remark on my life and the childhood that paved some road leading me to this point, I would have to say something about all the funny people who surrounded me for the last 26,872 days (and counting). Somewhere along that road, I became a big fan of laughter and the comedy that spawns it – and, I mean not only my own laughter, but the laughter of others, some of which I have actually been responsible for inducing.
