Behind the curve of upturned lips,

A thousand storms begin to slip.

A hollow laugh, a practiced art,

While silent battles break her heart.

She wears a grin, a painted mask,

A tiny, endless, aching task.

The world sees light, they see no fight,

Blind to the tears she hides at night.

She fakes the joy, she plays the part,

While sorrow stitches through her heart.

For sometimes strength is looking bright,

When all you crave is the right to cry.🌸
