The Smart Girl

I'll be a good little smart girl who silenced her lips,

So, you don't find discomfort that sits,

I'll fix my mouth and shutter my mind,

So, nothing uneasy is there for you to find,

I'll be a good little smart girl with her braids and bows,

Who doesn't flaunt the knowledge she knows,

It's off putting for boys, so I'll need to remember,

To put it all away each and every September,

I'll be a good little smart girl who puts up her books,

And hides it away behind makeup and looks,

I can't speak or it's a showoff-that's what they all say,

So, I'll be meek and be the toy for your play,

I'll be a good little smart girl who is falling apart,

No longer able to find a new start,

Did I do a good job? Are you all happy now?

You have fully erased all my flaunted know-how.
