What is this feeling?

As the clouds

slowly move

across the sky so blue?

Can I wrap myself in the clouds for comfort?

What if

the sky

really is falling down?

Crashing down

Crashing down on me?

You asked a question

It was a question

Only a question

It has plagued me

My chest is tight

My heart it won't beat

it refuses

to take a beat

another beat

another beat

The clouds

They won't comfort me

They told me

They're not a blanket

They told me

They won't wrap around me

They told me

That I've got this

I've always had this

I always manage

I always manage

They told me

I've got this

I've always had this

That I can do this

Alone

So they kept moving ever so slowly

across a sky so blue

As if the sky weren't falling

Falling down

Crashing down

Crashing down

Crashing down on me

My heart stopped beating

My lungs aren't breathing

How much longer?

Each second lingers

How much longer

until it kills me?

It finally kills me

It finally killed me

The sky

so blue

it collapsed

But they call it a suicide

(This is an ultra figurative song I wrote about ultra sensitive subjects and events. Because of that I could never stop crying when singing it, so I felt it was just best to leave it as a poem. Ultimately tho, the core feeling of this piece is ironically peace. It's a complex piece that encompasses the different feelings around traumatic events and the scars they leave behind.)

    Great ❤️

  • Very well written. Has good weight, while keeping a minimalist structure. It's something, someone, could easily project their own situation onto.
