The Sixth Element
The Ancients May Have Forgotten

Air was everywhere above the Earth and even below in the caves where they could feel a breeze, perhaps from the Gods and Goddesses, or Zeus forbid, from Hades, where Fire burned eternally without any Water to quench a thirst, let alone extinguish it, so far away from the ether, where spirit floated forever in Space.
They kept telling and retelling various versions of this story, adding more details as the years moved on, seemingly forgetting the sixth element that governs all the other five.
Love?
No! Space can exist without love.
Life?
No! Earth can exist without life.
Trees?
I wish I could say, yes.
Apples?
No! Avocados would be better had it been the case.
Consciousness?
It is covered by spirit.
Space would be meaningless without this sixth element, which is both strange and fascinating. To counter its unsurmountable power, there are those that insist, because they think that they can, that this sixth element does not exist.
Time.
The other five elements have no meaning without it.
