The Silent Struggle A Man’s Untold Pain

A Man's Burden

By Adnan RasheedPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

A Man’s Burden

He says I’m fine

with a smile painted on his face

but deep in his eyes

a century old sorrow hides.

He walks with steady steps

as if convincing the earth

that he can still carry

every burden every wound every pain.

But in the silence of the night

when no one is watching

when even the walls don’t whisper

he fights his reality.

No one knows

how the screams trapped in his ribs

slowly consume him from within

how he breaks

yet never falls apart.

They say

Men are strong

men don’t cry

but they don’t know

that sometimes

silence can scream the loudest

and eyes can weep

without shedding tears.

Yet he listens

he longs for words of comfort

just one voice to say

It’s okay to be weak.

But he waits

because the world has taught him

A man’s pain is his burden alone.
