The Silent Noises

Insomnia and Anxiety

By ROBERT COLEPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Thoughts rattle in my head

While looking for answers I find only questions instead

I close my eyes and try to sleep

I catch myself thinking about obligations I must keep

Another restless night

Battling the demons knowing there's no giving up this fight

A wave of clarity comes to light

The answers so lost in darkness appear in to my sight

Pieces fall together

The burdens on my mind become light as a feather

But then I find myself opening up my eyes

I awaken to the same questions and my own despise

In my dreams is where the answers to my questions reside

sealed away locked inside

About the Creator

ROBERT COLE

I wrote poetry while I was dealing with a lot of dark feelings. My titles usually include anxiety because its usually what bring about my questions. I have these questions and sometimes the poems I write help to sort out those feelings.
