The Silence is Screaming

Quiet up loud

Hiding behind the silence,

The truths cannot escape

Trapped in their enamel prison

Waiting for the day

When they burst out brightly

Into the light of day

To live their truths out loud

When they have their say

Right now, they're only whispers

Told when the darkness falls

And provides a layer,

a barrier, a wall

So that no eyes can lie upon them

And make them squirm as they gaze

They think they want the spotlight

But they'll be blinded in the blaze

So, I keep them hidden in plain sight

For their own safety, I say

For they are me and I am them,

But no one needs to know today

Maybe down the line,

When more confidence is formed

But for now, they must stay hidden

Where I can keep them safe and warm
