The Shrinking of a Bully

You knew a little girl

Who was abandoned long ago

Her beloved Dad died.

*

You abandoned her many times,

Emotionally bereft

You, big and scary, kept on cleaning.

*

House immaculate,

Shame about the little one’s heart.

So unimportant to you.

*

You’ve left me again; deliberate intent, but

Now I have family, home, friends, everyone,

You are small now. Tiny. Powerless.

Oh my, I hope it is not this poet who has had all this trauma!! Well done.💕

Hope is always just a moment way, so happy that your story has such a beautiful middle, the end is still to be written. Hope

  • Bullies are 'small. tiny. powerless.' Surely they have miserable lives. Wonderful to have the love of 'family, home, friends."

Oh, Ruth, so heartbreaking and wonderful how you’ve worked through and moved on. I felt every single word. Thank you for sharing this. It shows that we’re not as alone in these things as we may believe! Hugs 🤗💕🙂

Oh my, this was heavy. As a girl who struggled with her parents, I felt it immensely. I also loved the ending ❤️

  • 💔 vulnerable share. Love to you, Ruth ✨

It's so hard to reconcile when people who are supposed to care about you, love you, have your best interests at heart are the very ones bullying, degrading and failing to protect you. Big hugs for this cathartic piece. I felt it.

Very powerful writing. I love the positive end, though. That the bully can no longer have a lasting impact on you. xxxx
