Pride I am the one

A peacock with no equal

Source of all seven

Lust beyond a name

Money, food, more fame, and sex

Blown to me by winds

Gluttony by name

Food, drink, expense, let all come

Overindulge me

Greed, I need some more

Nothing exceeds like excess

More, more, more for me

Envy, green it is

Jealous of what others have

Covet all for me

Sloth, my deadly sin

Why should I do anything

Laziness abides

Wrath my booming rage

Hatred and anger I feel

Self destructiveness.

[Author's note: The "Seven Deadly Sins" concept originates in Christian theology and tradition. These sins are considered particularly severe and are associated with moral transgressions that can lead to damnation if not repented. The list of the Seven Deadly Sins developed over time, but Pope Gregory I most famously formalized it in the 6th century.]

Till next time,

Such a simple yet accurate description of all 7 of the deadly sins.

Oh wow! When you said, "The source of all 7," So true! God hates the people who have pride in themselves. There's a verse of the Quran that says, "And do not walk upon the earth exultantly." I think all these mentioned above are the some of the major SINS in almost many religions. This poem is another reminder for us, thank you for this, Sir 😊🤍

Very cool haiku! I write a lot of superhero fiction and want to do more with these for supervillains but, you know... I'm slothful. 🤷⚡
