The unseen

Child, sleep soundly in your bed tonight

I will guard you until dawn's first light

This fate chose me, I cannot escape

But over the centuries, the darkness I have embraced

No one knows my name, or has seen my face

The sands of time will forget me, and all will be erased

But I still stand at my post each night

And when evil comes I will always stand and fight

I seek no fortune or fame for my deeds

I only seek to protect the light, and let it plant its seeds

I give of myself, each battle rips off a piece

But someone must stand here, because evil will never cease

So sleep peacefully, and do not fear

For I am the sentinel, and I will always be near
