Winters Weather

Sometimes I wish I were a tree

that I had the abilities to shed myself and start anew every year

in the spring I wake up and flourish all of the best things happen to me then that is when I’m cute and hopeful

that is when I am the center of attention and everyone loves me

then summer will come and I’m still flourishing a little bit singed but nothing is holding me back from everything

then fall shall come and my true colors start to come out all the reds yellows and greens bursting all through me until you see the true inner beauty in me

but then winter comes and just like the world around me I die little by little until all I am is a shell just branches and limbs exposed to the world to do as it wishes with me

and when I close my eyes as the first snowfall begins I wish for the spring once again
