The Season Of Sleep
A Poem
A soft white blanket covers the Earth
As the daylight fades with each day
And the quiet darkness gradually grows
Our troubles melting away
*
Under the moonlight, the ground shines
As if the stars floated down from the sky
Adorning the now pale Earth in bliss
With their astral, whimsical sheen
*
The outside world turns reticent
With hushed and muted tones
Ushering out all the needless noise
Easing our minds and settling out souls
*
Eyes heavy, thoughts blurry
But hearts and spirits clear
*
All our challenges now behind us
All our burdens wiped away
We reflect on our joys, put our hardships to rest
And we dream of what magic lies ahead
So begins the season of sleep
*
