The sculpture

carved in ice

These veins have run cold

The blood gives me chills

I welcome the frost to my bones

I am an ice statue

Caught, frozen in a place

Where true emotion died

Where emotion slipped away.

Where truth was written

On a mirror that reflected

What I became

What you have done to me.

I am better off alone

That’s so haunting! "I am better off alone" hits with such quiet finality—like the statue has spoken its last word.✨

  • Your musings and ability to capture the ineffable is chilling. I feel for that poor oxidized statue... and what all it expresses. By contrast- I do enjoy your tail picture for your tales.
