The Scarred Smile
A tribute to the pain and perseverance of women.
WHAT ARE THEY?
They are nature we don't nurture
They are the love we don't share
They are hate we don't justify
They are Queens we don't crown,
They are bullied for the strength they deliver
They are judged for those liberties they embrace
They are robbed of the dreams they treasure
They are ripped to death so they can give us birth
They are WOMEN.
WHO ARE THEY?
Oh, my sister why endure the slap of society?!
Oh, my friend why love the presence of prejudice?!
Oh, my love why let them gag with the very thread you dress?!
Oh, my Child why cry in the tomb of gender?!
Oh, my mother why remain in the chains of societal Prison?!
They are MOTHER NATURE
Oh my mother nature, why birth us? This world?
Thank you for all the scars you hide beneath the powdered mask
so we can still be cradled by you.
And Thank you for endearing all unjust brutish judgments
so we can grope our pride up your bleeding thighs.
Oh, my precious woman, do shut us up with your echoing success and
let the brightness bleak through your scintillating smile.
