The Scales Between Us
We stand on opposite ends of the scale,
Not as weights, but as whispers—frail,
You, a flame with a soft golden glow,
I a petal cupped by the moon’s slow throw.
Your touch ignites, bold and bright,
Mine cools like dew in the hush of night.
Yet neither smothers, neither reigns,
For love is the sum of both suns and rains.
A hand outstretched, not to tip or take,
But to steady what the heart may break.
A feather falls—your words, my sighs—
Balanced beneath the open skies.
So we hold the silence, hold the song,
Knowing neither is right nor wrong.
For love does not demand a crown,
It leans, it lifts, but never weighs down.
Let us sway, but never sever,
Bound by the balance of forever.
You and me no scale shall tip
We are lovers, who love and worship

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

Love should be an emotion of balance between the two persons. Good job.
