The Rules Of Engagement
Based on current rules of engagement in killing, combat, war.
Please show honor in your slaughter
Dishonorable slaughter is gross and gauche.
Please exhibit fairness in your carnage,
Only fair carnage and Visa accepted here.
Do not be too brutal in your brutality.
Do not be uncivil in your killing by killing civilians.
EDIT: Do not be uncivil in your killing by killing
an excessive amount of civilians.
The amount of civilians killed must be proportional
to the military advantage gained.
(Measuring cup of proportionality of kills vs. gain included -
NOTE: Not available in metric - only available in Imperial).
So if there's a big honkin' military advantage to be gained,
Let your slaughter be bountiful.
Please do not torture anyone in war,
except the psychological torture
war brings crashing down on all of us.
That torture is okey-dokey.
Please only murder in a way that minimizes outrages on personal dignity.
Better yet, if you're murdered, please control your outrage.
Outrage of the murdered is so outré.
Do not cause excessive harm when killing and maiming.
Please apply the Goldlocks Principal when killing and maiming
by causing the amount of harm that is "just right."
Copy of Goldilocks and the Three Bears included for reference.
To help determine the amount of harm that is
just
right.

Or...
Do not murder? Proportionately or disproportionately.
Ever.
Do not engage in combat? Whether military advantage is gained or lost.
Ever.
Fight no more wars? Dignified, honorable, necessary or unnecessary, civil, or otherwise.
All of the harm is excessive.
All of the torture is real.
All of the lost lives stay lost
squandered.
The one, perfect rule of engagement in killing, combat, war:
THERE CAN BE NO ENGAGEMENT IN KILLING, COMBAT, WAR.
EVER.

'All of the lost lives stay lost.' That line will stay with me. So sad, but true.
