The Ride Drops Here

Get Back On

By David E. PerryPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

I’ve Done All That I Could, Gave All That I’ve Got.

I’ve Poured Out My Soul, Till It Was Red Hot.

I’ve Come To That Point Where The Ride Reached The Top

And Comes To A Pause, Just Before It Drops.

From This Moment On, It Is All Downhill.

That’s Nothing Bad, Because Here Comes The Thrill.

You Know That Point When It Starts To Fall

It Drops So Fast But Starts As A Crawl

Surrounded By People, However, It Seems,

They’re Right Next To You, And Can’t Hear Your Screams.

In Your Brain You Can Feel, How Hard Your Heart Pound.

You Thank God When You’re Safely Back On The Ground.

And Then There’s That Force, You Crave It Like Sin.

You Shake Off The Dust, And Get On Again.

Metaphorically life. This was wonderfully written. Been on a few roller coasters bot literal and figurative...they all pack the same punch. Love the words a lot.
