You ever get stuck in the past? like it’s never going away, not away from somebody like me. getting caught up everyday, sticking to that old hip hop n’ R&B.
It’s like why? why do I give this presence my present like it doesn’t have a better place to be? portions of it goes, but never decides to flee. eating me up inside, glued to the majority of my conversations, like the lyrics from my favorite 90s.. R&B.
It’s the grooves, smooth sounds, and cords like this, that just stick to me. understood by a few, relations to many, but never in whole. at least from this view, it never seems, to be there. maybe that’s the past talking again, making it’s passing by me.
the tightest grip on my attention was what it did. looking forward no more. not looking at her walk away, not watching for the next place to be, head twisted around to see what’s behind.. listening and waiting, but not for the new thing. cause i’m still stuck, on that classic R&B.

acted on the love but didn’t know where to place the hook, now i’m stuck at the beginning of this song like flippin your fingers through a book and reading the first sentence of each page. tried meditating, tried the sage. i’ll keep trying those and maybe some more stimulation.

A Dart at Dusk
Seconds ago, the sullen sun set on the two of us… my exuberant furry companion and me. A fresh breeze embraces us, delivering welcome relief from the day’s oppressive heat. His typical stumbling and staggering along — apace with a sloth — has turned into trip-trapping, high-stepping, almost skipping along.
