The Rhyme of Life

A Celebration of Life's Beautiful Connections

By Chetika TiwariPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Oh little girl, what happened to thee?

You used to walk so fearless and free.

What happened to those promises

that you made to yourself?

What happened to those goals

that you set for yourself?

The world has changed

and so have you,

Different kinds of people

of all shapes and hue.

But it's necessary that you

stay true to yourself.

Otherwise, there might be a day

when you lose yourself.

Life is a circle that starts and ends,

it's not a line, but all the different bends.

You talk to some people for the first time,

and yet it feels like hearing a wind chime.

You meet some people for the first time,

and you feel your heart sing a rhyme.

Those are the ones that you should care about,

Don't forget them ever, never have this doubt.

For these are the friends who'll be with you forever,

and lose them you must shall never.

As losing them can mean losing your own self,

because these are the favorites from your bookshelf.

Whenever you feel as if you're all alone,

don't feel down, cry, howl or moan.

Instead, look within that mirror,

that shows you all your near and dear.

Feel yourself in those childhood days,

Running wild under shiny sun rays.

And you will see that you are just fine,

remember these golden words of mine.
