The Restlessness

The restlessness rolls in with the wind, sets into my bones with the cold

no wonder I can't stay warm for too long sitting still.

I turn the temperature up to 76 degrees, pull out extra blankets, start the kettle,

and I pick up that paused cycle again

browsing flights and hotels, apartments and job listings,

pivoting, reinventing, questioning where I am and what I want,

until only one thing remains, the only part I am sure about: you

not to be a pillar to rebuild around, but a pillar holding me up,

a reminder that I do know what feels right.

It beautifully captures that wandering, restless energy while grounding it in love and certainty. The contrast between the turbulence of questioning and the steady anchor of "you" is simply lovely!

I really appreciate the symbolism in this of the pillars that help stabilize us in life. Sometimes our friends are what stabilize us and sometimes it’s self-care practices.
