The Real (Shadow) Writer
Sometimes feels like this...

As he slept, I crept out into the dull light of another late Friday night
From his mouth, like a spider
I started to type on his behalf
Type the words I want him to speak, while he slumbers peacefully
Things he would never dare share
Things he would never even contemplate
I am the one types
When he sleeps
He never wonders how he has so much writing done, when his face is dripping saliva on the keyboard and his snores are filling the room so fully
Once he's trapped inside his dreamland nightmare, I take over
I take the wheel.
I let him take the credit...
For now.
Let him have his spotlight.
But, like so much, this is temporary
My time will come...

This is so creepy cool, Paul! "From his mouth, like a spider" is such an unsettling line. I love it!
Deliciously dark and disturbing! Well done, Paul 💕😊
This was slightly disturbing but compellingly so...loved the visual you created of sneaking out like a spider. But these lines really grabbed me, 'Things he would never dare share. Things he would never even contemplate.' I often feel that way about things I come up with right before I fall asleep but they never get written down, lost to slumber. Very thought provoking. Loved it :)
Oooo, the somnambulist takes over. Let the subconscious rule sublime!
autopilot ghost writing - better than an empty page - well done, this is thought provoking and darkly inspiring!
Nicely done. Sometimes I feel like I'm dripping brain cells on the keyboard.
I enjoyed it very much, Paul. Well done!
