The Rain

a poem about the rain

I looked out my window,

and then I saw it—

dense, dark clouds,

a signal of the coming rain.

Petrichor fills the air

as clouds rumble.

The rain is apathetic,

caring not for your plans,

giving no warning—

it arrives like a thief in the night,

with the dominance of a lion.

The bane of event planners,

the joy of farmers.

O' rain,

how wonderful you are.

    Lovely!

  • Wow! This is beautifully written in just a few lines. "The bane of event planners, the joy of farmers." What a contrast! Indeed, rain can be a wonderful blessing for some, while a terrible nuisance for others. You did an excellent job capturing the nature of rain. Well done!
