the race

at my own pace

twisted and turned

I walk the Earth

like a lion on the loose

black, broken, bruised

unhinged, unchanged, unbound

near higher heaven

leaving low

behind the previous red rock

standing behind

the moon towards the sun

after storm passed through my veins

leaving traces

significant threads

to follow for the future

where it won’t be

all of this

quirky quicksand

dusting my head

with uncertainty and orange

entering my eyes

like warning lights

obstructing the view

only green allowed

in this race

with Achilles and tortoise still

unresolved

yet foretold

on the go
