"The Quiet Things We Never Say"

I carry storms inside my chest,
But smile as if I’ve known only calm.
My voice is soft—a practiced guest,
Trained to soothe, designed to charm.

The world moves fast—I walk alone,
In silent rooms and midnight haze.
The ones I love are carved in stone,
But never stayed through all my days.

I text “I’m fine” with steady hands,
While oceans rage beneath the skin.
Each heartbeat writes in shifting sands,
A tale of loss, of might-have-beens.

Sometimes I dream of open skies,
Where I can speak and not be small.
Where tears aren’t shame, and truth replies,
Instead of echoes down a hall.

But still, I stay, and still I hide,
The cracks beneath my clever lines.
The quiet things I keep inside—
Like wilted flowers pressed in time.

So read between the words I share,
And see the ache I never name.
For all the ones who “seem okay”
Are often masters of the game.
