The Quiet Revolution

For the One Who Changed My World

By The 9x FawdiPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

My world before was measured,

In miles, and goals, and time,

A steady, hurried rhythm,

A straightforward, upward climb.

Then you arrived, so softly,

A quiet revolution's start,

And re-arranged the universe,

Around your tiny heart.

Now time is in your eyelashes,

That flutter in your sleep,

And space is in the gentle curve,

Your peaceful breathing keeps.

My purpose is a lullaby,

Hummed in the fading light,

My strength is in the watch I keep,

Upon you through the night.

You did not come with trumpets,

Or with banners, loud and grand,

You came and shifted everything,

With one small, perfect hand.

You turned my "I" and "me" to "we,"

My "someday" into "now,"

And placed a crown upon my head,

I never knew just how.

So rule your small kingdom, love,

This world you've made brand new,

I'll be your steadfast guardian,

For my world, now, is you.
