The Quiet Ones

I Didn’t Say That Out Loud

Deep within, the psyche swims, and fights against the tides.

A secret garden in the mind, where enchantment blooms and hides.

All those eyes see only skin… the spirit’s outer frame.

They do not know these hidden worlds, that malice cannot tame.

~

Some lives are only whispers.

Some tales are never shared.

I’d let you see,

The whole of me,

If I were not so scared.

~

I’d paint with every color.

I’d speak with every word.

I’d set free,

The wild in me,

No matter what

The gossips heard.

~

I’d let my soul dance naked.

I’d swallow up the sun.

I’d let the light shine through me,

Not dimmed by anyone.

~

I’d be unapologetic,

And when they sneered and snarked and glared,

I’d smile in my surrender,

And be grateful that I dared.
