Some eyes make blindness seem impossible
Reading life down to the final footnote
How good it feels to be so legible
You know the twists of my story by rote

I am surprised to have such faith in you
Four feet must know secrets that two do not
I feel no need to history review
What good is the past to the fish who's caught?

Putting things down is always a relief
Fighting gravity is baldly insane
A body is no basis for belief
They coalesce and fly apart again

Your follower I've been dying to be
Death to boredom: this is all new to me

I loved this so much! That first line is remarkable. So intense!
Your use of the psychopomp motif gives the poem a haunting, almost mythic undercurrent. The contrast between surrender and discovery is handled with remarkable subtlety.
"What good is the past to the fish who's caught?" Oooo, that line was so brilliant! Loved your poem!
Well written D. J. With excellent rhymes.
Nicely done, especially "Four feet must know secrets that two do not." I think that may be true.
Some great thoughts woven into your sonnet
