I don't know how you do that with the dark
Teaching it to dance with the light you are
Shaking their jeers from your hair with a bark
Letting me know the meaning of your scar

I cannot understand all of this noise
You skate on its black river with a laugh
You greet undulating rage with poise
Blessed by knowing looks from the burly staff

The shadows smirk and calculate my age
The throng names me a clumsy intruder
Your grin measures out just the right dosage
To make my impostor syndrome splinter

You relish my discomfort in this storm
Playing in acid that dissolves the norm

A fascinating and vividly portrayed poem, along with accompanying images.
This is a snappy beast. I like it. Very different to what I was expecting.
😄Some quirky lines here D.J. I need to look more thoroughly at the themes for this challenge. Hope you are well and happy.
"You skate on its black river with a laugh" - what a line. Good luck in the challenge, D.J. Do I need to tell you this gets a DD rating?
Oooo, this was dark and I absolutely loved it!
I was looking forward to your take on this challenge, and as usual, you do not disappoint!
