"The Princess Within"
Brave and compassionate,
one stands willing to fight,
for what’s right.
Confident yet humble,
willing to say what's,
hard and painful,
to save those that she loves.
Passionate and kind,
one forgives those that hurt.
Knowing her self-worth,
she seeks knowledge,
impowering others around her.
Graceful and polite,
she gives out a smile.
Working hard, she sees the good in others.
Knowing when to walk away,
she stands patient and gentle,
never giving up on what she believes in.
She works, getting dirty,
seeing the good yet knowing the evil.
A princess she is not,
yet a princess she is,
and deserves to be!

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
