The prelude to mourn.

It was an uncertain time, a time to which the hearts of men went about to and fro,

Considering all that is, and all that could inevitably be.

The thought of destruction looming up the land,

The atmosphere of uncertainty, the thought of oppression,

The hearts chained to slavery of safety from the fear of loss,

With warfare lingering in the constant conversations.

Ever anxious about what would be,

How and when, who and what, and why it would happen?

Desiring peace, but unwilling to preserve it,

Desiring hope, but unwilling to spur the flame of inspiration,

Desiring a future, but unwilling to fight for it.
