The prayer...

From: Roses & Thorns

By Mat BarnsleyPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I'm willing to give all that I know away—

For nothing else but a lifetime with her…

I get down on my knees and begin to pray—

And threaten I'll be Heaven's saboteur…

"Make it so," I say, "or strike me down dead—

I won't live my life this way."

Or see fit to allow me into her heart—

So I can be there for the rest of my days.

If not, then I will burn your sweet Heaven down—

You just mark my words, 'Sky King'…

If you have no intention, just kill me now—

So I can ignite the fires and begin.

I don't ask you for much, not riches or time—

I just want to make her smile.

And she now only deserves the best from you—

You've made her suffer for a long while.

So allow me this favour and give me to her—

Allow me to restore her crown…

Because if you deny me, oh great 'Sky King'…

I swear I'll burn your whole Heaven down.
