Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But words take aim at softer tones.
A casual jest, a careless slip,
Can turn to blades with poison tips.
A mocking laugh, a cutting name,
Can set the soul alight with shame.
No bruise to show, no blood to shed,
Yet hearts may ache where words have tread.
But words, like seeds, can also bloom,
In darkest halls, dispel the gloom.
A tender phrase, a kind refrain,
Can soothe the soul and ease the pain.
They rise like songs on morning air,
Rebuilding hope with gentle care.
A bridge of meaning, line by line,
Connecting hearts through space and time.
So choose with love, and speak with grace,
For words can shift both time and space.
They’re fleeting, yet they last for years,
Can bring forth joy—or summon tears.
Though sticks may break, and stones may sting,
It’s words that teach the heart to sing.
Their echoes linger, far and near—
A whispered strength, a banished fear.
Remember, then, their mighty power,
To hurt, to heal, to build, to flower.
For words are gifts we give and share,
So let them show how much we care.

Words are very powerful and can make us feel an endless list of emotions. Even ones we can't put into words themselves.
I love this. Very powerful.
