I no longer fear the future.
.
I have found it here, in this pool.
An antidote of blue and turquoise.
.
My hands effortlessly part still water.
Like reams of silk rippling back across my skin
Into time and space,
The past and forever.
.
For I am gigantic,
Cutting silver with my lean bones.
I have arrived home.
.
And as the sun dips and bleeds
My reflection darkens on the surface,
.
It is only myself that I see staring back from the deep.
About the Creator
Eve Hill
Eve’s work is confessional, intimate, and unafraid of exposure. Anchored in real recollection, she writes about moments that unmake us. Through raw testimony, she unpicks the delirium and aftermath of loving, losing, and surviving yourself.
