Awake from her cold slumber

Yggdrasil gazes at the sight.

A cold winter has come

Under a dim light.

She shakes off the snow

And spreads her roots.

She splits the land in half

Without any disputes.

She buries herself deep

Into the planet's core.

There in the warmth

She will thrive once more.

After time of grieving

She feels a sensation.

Life is stirring above,

In the frozen nation.

She spreads her magic

To the trees and brush.

To the hibernating animals

She gives them a push.

Over the course of time

New creatures emerge.

From feathers and fur

Our future is on the verge.

About the Creator

Mark Shaw

I began writing lyrics and stories back in high school. Even went as far as publishing a poem online and it being in a book. As with film a picture can say a thousand words and show emotion, but audio triggers that emotion.
